ZubrinŽ (tepoxalin) tablets are given orally to dogs for the control of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis. With its wide margin of kidney and liver safety and a remarkable gastric ulceration safety profile, it's no wonder more and more veterinarians are turning to ZubrinŽ to help control pain.

What is Zubrin

ZubrinŽ (tepoxalin) tablets are a veterinary-prescribed non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that are used to reduce pain and inflammation (soreness) due to osteoarthritis in dogs. ZubrinŽ tablets are available as seemingly tasteless, rapidly disintegrating tablets that can easily be hidden in food or in a moist treat.

How Zubrin Works?

ZubrinŽ (tepoxalin) works by controlling inflammation and pain in joints affected by osteoarthritis (OA).

Once the dog swallows the tablet, tepoxalin — the active ingredient found in ZubrinŽ — passes into the blood and is partially metabolized in the liver. Within two hours of administration, the agents responsible for the inflammation in the joint are blocked by tepoxalin and its active metabolite, decreasing the overall level of inflammation and lowering the associated pain. The active metabolite of ZubrinŽ tablets keeps working in the joint and controlling some of those agents for an entire 24 hours — which explains why you can give ZubrinŽ tablets to your dog once a day and see such effective and prolonged pain relief.
